Calgary Transit’s success and expansion of their rail and bus networks resulted in their operation control centre (“OCC”) spaces outgrowing their available footprint. To alleviate the restriction, an interior fit-out of an existing four-storey (plus penthouse) building was facilitated. By providing new partitions, finishes, modifications to existing access flooring and ceilings, and extensive mechanical and electrical works, the revamped facility now houses various transit divisions and a data centre.
A.W. Hooker collaborated with Hatch and their sub-consultants to provide cost management services across multiple design stages. This collaborative effort resulted in the 2019 Award of Excellence presented by the Consulting Engineers of Alberta.
