Navigating the world of capital development projects can be difficult. The Royal Architecture Institute of Canada (RAIC) provides a Canadian Standard Form of Contract which is an excellent resource for understanding the phases of a project, the Architect’s tasks, responsibilities and optional additional services, as well as your responsibilities throughout the project as
the client.

Schedule A to Document 6 provides detailed explanation of the tasks in the process in an easy to follow table.

The RAIC Schedule of Client Responsibilities is another excellent resource which outlines your responsibility as the Owner or Developer.

Further versions of RAIC Architect’s Contract Documents are available on the RAIC website.
