The project site is located towards the eastern end of Confederation Beach Park, on Confederation Drive in Hamilton Ontario. The design involves converting 19 acres (833,200 sq.ft.) of an existing campground into a sports park with a multi-phase construction approach. The redeveloped area will include: a full-size cricket pitch that will also function as two (2) senior soccer pitches; twelve (12) pickleball courts, intermediate soccer field, field house, playground, picnic area, new parking lot with controlled access gate; with associated mechanical and electrical works to occur throughout the proposed three construction phases.

A.W. Hooker collaborated with DTAH Architects to provide cost management services at the following design stages: Schematic Design (Class C Estimate) in September 2017; Design Development (Class B Estimate) in November 2017; and Working Drawing (Class A Estimate) in January 2018.

Phase 1 Bid result in April 2019, the project received compliant bids from all five prequalified general contractors with a spread of +/- $2.3M or 75% and AW Hooker’s Class A Estimate was 2.5% from the median bid.
